When the New Conservatives initially debuted, I was sceptical. Yet they've been working overtime to prove me wrong. Most recently they've received the attention of the DailyBlog who's been getting a bit worked up about them.

Why haven't we heard about the Global Compact for Migration here in New Zealand? President Trump made waves when he rejected the Pact, due to be signed this December, nearly a year ago. Many other nations have withdrawn support, but what about us?

The Catholic Boy’s High school I was sentenced to during the term of my teenage years held a weekly assembly, the centrepiece of which was the principal’s address, preceded by a song. Memorably, one Monday morning some poor sap chose John Lennon’s Imagine .

I’ve never met Gareth Morgan, but for some reason I find him intensely annoying. There’s something rather condescending and patronising about him, or at least how he comes across in his many media offerings. He definitely has a chronic case of cleverest-person-in-the-room syndrome. The instant ...
Winston Peters kicks of the Islam debate for election year in New Zealand
by Owen LLewellyn · 11/06/2017 3pm
It was only a matter of time before Winston Peters figured out that there are growing concerns among Kiwis about the possibility of the Muslim community increasing in New Zealand and what that might mean. In parliament last week he effectively started the official public debate about the growth of ...
Islam will dominate the world
by Owen LLewellyn · 30/04/2017 5pm
Liam Dann, writing in the Herald this week, lamented the fact that immigration would be a major issue in the upcoming election this year. He made the standard patronising and misleading remarks about 'populist' politicians, characterising Trump and Farage, not to mention our own Winston Peters, as ...
Trump signs an executive order
by Right Minds NZ · 30/01/2017 4pm
Monday morning's news cycle in New Zealand was once again dominated by Trump. The gossip rags were filled with like headlines including statements like "Trump's ban on travellers from Muslim countries."
