Police Minister, Paula Bennett has held back the tide of anti-gun legislation.  Rejecting 13 out of 20 recommendations of the select committee inquiry into the illegal possession of firearms.  Sensibly, Bennett listened to the gun lobby, made up of overwhelmingly law abiding citizens, and understood that the problem of illegal possession of firearms is a gang/criminal problem and has nothing to do with the hunters and farmers and other rural folk who make up the main body of legal firearms owners.  Mind you, if you were to believe the editorial in Stuff, you would think that Bennett had lost her mind and been captured by the gun lobby crazies.  In fact, sensible gun owners were able to explain to the Minister how reality is, as opposed to the how the anti-gun lobby might like to present it.
