After the black summer flash floods due to torrential rainfall has fallen upon NSW and NZ’s Southland. Australia is often struck by a series of droughts and floods at this time of year, but the meteorological service made a bit of a mistake, with their bushfire signs being buried under water.

New Zealand's politicians were all busy courting votes at events where politicians get to promise bribed and flash their progressive credentials. Labour's Jacinda promised free dental care at Waitangi and National's Simon promised more AIDS funding at the Big Gay Out. The National Party leader played dress-up, and big business was there to show off their virtue too. Vodafone had a very interesting display on that resulted in complaints of sexualising children.

The Australian High Court has ruled that those of aboriginal descent can't be deported from Australia if they commit crimes and have no citizenship. This opens up a case of special race-based rights that applied to non-citizens. In sports news, the All Stars game scraped the national anthem because of offence it might cause to aboriginal people. The AFLW is calling on the original AFL to change their name to AFLM, as the current name is sexist. Dieuwe had plenty of jokes about all the second-rate men who will soon be dominating the AFLW, but setting up a third AFLX will not be possible as the name is already taken.

New Zealand had its first poll of the year, one that did not show much change from three months ago. The current trajectory will see NZ First out of parliament, ACT on two MPs, and a Labour-Green government. Tim reminded the audience that Australia's polls last year all pointed to a Labour win.

With the Wuhan Flu still in full swing, there is discussion of a China-induced recession coming and New Zealand might cut it's OCR to the lowest levels ever. Australia continues to suffer from the xenovirus as left-wing activists rail against sinophobia.

The NZ government has proposed merging RNZ and TVNZ into one "mega-broadcaster", dubbed the Ministry of Truth by Dieuwe, but there has been much backlash. The country's other media corporations are either owned by Australians or Americans and are very left-leaning. RNZ has announced that they'll trying to kill off their classical music station, Concert FM, after the Marxists who have infiltrated the organisation finally control the levers of power.

Trans-Tasman Talk might be shifting to a new timeslot next month: Friday 8pm NZT. (6pm Melbourne.) Please let us know your thoughts on that via the comments or any polls we run on social media.
