Right Minds Is Back From Hiatus

Dieuwe de Boer

I've written no long form articles in over six months, and did less than one a month on average last year. The reason I cut back was in part due to a lifestyle change, but at a deeper level I didn't feel like writing. Writing about COVID and the politics around it was depressing. It's hard and demoralising to lose all respect for some members in your community, slowly crushed away over two years. That last lockdown followed by mandatory vaccination as a deeply evil vanity project from Jacinda Ardern and Ashley Bloomfield took away any desire to write. Yet the technocratic state fought God and lost.

Hey, the bright side was that when the "experts" were wrong time and time again that everyone would see the light and be embarrassed for being fooled, right? Haha. Anyway, the Russo-Ukraine war kicked into full gear nearly four months ago and we're now down a new path of (un)intended consequences to compound the ones we've already accumulated. A bigger day of reckoning is still ahead of us. The silver lining is that, with the two most boring and frustrating years of "current events" I've had to face in my short life behind me, I'll find it easier to focus on all the subjects I love writing about.

I know people have missed my writing because they keep asking me to go back to it. I've really missed writing too and I'm finally ready to return. It feels like some exciting things are brewing, that positive developments are on the horizon. I'll probably also tackle some of the other lifestyle things that took my focus away from writing, like taking up biking and my ongoing involvement in New Conservative and NZ politics in general. It's not going to all politics and current events like I did between 2016-2021.

If you want to read my short-form commentary, join my Telegram channel and chat or my Twitter feed. I'll be live with Tim Wilms from The Unshackled tomorrow evening (Tue 7th June, 8pm) on Youtube and Facebook.

Come back tomorrow to read my review of Matt Walsh's film: What Is A Woman?
