A Case For Mental Asylums

Things went a little off the rails at ABC when they accidentally interviewed a patient who wandered outside of the confines of their intellectual mental institution. The Daily Wire reports:

> A so-called "sexuality expert" and author became the subject of much-deserved mockery this week when she suggested parents and guardians ask for their baby's "consent" before a diaper change.

Deanna Carson appeared on an Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) News segment about "changing consent culture" when she was asked how young some of the children she works with are.

"We work with children from three years old, we work with parents from birth," she said.

"From birth?" the host reasonably inquired.

When I first heard of this "sexuality expert" who works with children, I thought this was some new kind of twisted PC terminology for a paedophile. After reading the story, I am still no closer to understanding what on earth it actually means.

Here's where Carson turned up the insanity dial to 100: "Yeah, just about how to set up a culture of consent in their homes. So, 'I’m going to change your nappy now, is that ok?'"

This part is the punchline to the joke, except it's [the current year] and this [gender ambiguous person] was being completely serious.

All of the normal, sane people on planet earth laughed at her. Dozens of articles and blog posts were written to ridicule this confused woman. After all, what else can you do?

"I gave an interview the other day about teaching consent to young children," she wrote in the post. "Sadly, some people have chosen to ridicule me (oh no! Pink hair! Must be a lesbian!) ..."

And on she went about how a % of boys and girls will be sexually abused, blah, blah, blah. So how is "consent culture" going to help with this?

You'd have to be completely bonkers to think that predators don't know what they're doing is non-consensual, unless they come from some turd-world country apparently, so how is consent training going to help these children? It's not like victims don't know they're being abused either. This sounds more like the grooming of young children so that paedophiles can argue they are capable of consent thanks to this "training" from birth.

Now, I'm willing to put all that aside and give these people the benefit of the doubt. Maybe they're not malicious or creepy. Maybe they're just insane.

I have a perfect solution to that problem: bring back mental asylums and institutionalise these people. They should never have been let out.
